Everyday decisions are critical when we're an oppressed people - people who have not fully recovered from inherited traumas - people who live with our own traumas on top of those inherited from our ancestors ...

That's why meditation is necessary for Black people.

the candi dugas collective (cdc) produces healing, liberating + uplifting meditations and talks on mindfulness that help Black people to transform our lives today + tomorrow. While our faith and our beliefs nurture our souls, meditation strengthens our minds, enabling us to choose that which achieves goals and manifests dreams.

Our minds determine the "who," "what," "when," "where," and "how" of every moment of every day.

It's these momentary decisions that make up what becomes our lives. The person who not only survives, but thrives, is the one who is able to sculpt an entire life from their individual choices. It's the person who grasps that the brain's function is to produce thoughts, and that all thoughts do not warrant their focus. They've conditioned their minds to discern what to pay attention to, and what to let go, much like releasing a leaf to float down a river's surface.
