Build is where vision becomes strategic plans becomes protected reality.
While writing my very first musical during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a poignant question bubbled up within me while on a research road trip through one of our HBCU's, "What are we building?" Watch the short vid below for more of this revelation:
This pillar of cdc's work (creating.healing.building) is where we play the long game - with strategy + protection. From our dreams + visions we develop ideas, craft plans, and ensure what we've built over time will endure because we also protect it.
Our building honors process as much as product (even more so), and understands building as an ethical act. What is made here is meant to be useful, and to last sot that it will be inherited (legacy).
Building reflects our commitment to rigor, sustainability, and care - asking not only what are we creating, but what will it support, and whom will it serve when we are no longer in the room.
